The personnel working for BioValora are also part of the “Biological Waste Treatment” Research Group from Cadiz University, who have been working on anaerobic degradation and high organic content waste composting for approximately 30 years. The Research Group´s scientific and technological experience is a result of numerous R+D+i projects and also many contracts that have been signed with leading private companies in sectors that have business interests in the area (agro-industry, livestock, domestic and industrial). Since 1998 the Research Group has taken part in 14 R+D+i projects related to the subject and has signed many contracts with private companies, some of which have lasted for over 10 years.

The Research Group´s solid track record on treating different types of organic waste together with the current situation that favours knowledge transfer from different areas of the Administration and the University has created the ideal framework for this company to start up in, one in which it intends to pass on scientific and technological knowledge acquired by the Research Group to businesses and at the same time organise new economic activities based on this knowledge that produces wealth and a healthy environment.
